Quick answer

What is an Etsy shop audit?

An Etsy shop audit is a structured review of an Etsy shop by a specialist. It checks the catalog, listing titles, tags and keywords, photos, listing details, pricing, storefront and competitors, then scores each area and ends with a prioritized action plan. A good audit tells you what to fix first, why it matters and how long it takes.

This audit in 30 seconds
  • The shop: a Lightroom presets and digital guides shop on Etsy since 2018, with 536,699 sales and a 4.7-star rating from 29,480 reviews (public Etsy figures).
  • The score: 59 out of 100. Reviews, trust and photos are excellent; catalog structure, titles and listing details hold the shop back.
  • The biggest fix: the best-selling bundle is listed six times, so the shop competes with itself in search.
  • The plan: six quick wins for the first 14 days and a 90-day plan, with no new products or ad spend needed to start.

What we found

Six findings, each with a fix

For each problem the report explains what we saw, why it costs sales and what to do about it. Here are the six that matter most, in the order we would fix them.

01

The best seller competes with itself

What we found: the 10,000+ Lightroom presets bundle is listed six times, and other products have exact copies too, just among the 50 best sellers.

Why it matters: Etsy tends to show a limited number of listings from one shop for a search. Six near-identical bundles take those places instead of six different products.

Our fix: keep the strongest copy, move the best photos and tags into it, and retire the weaker copies one at a time while watching sales for two weeks.

02

Titles run too long

What we found: 23 of the 25 best-selling titles are over 110 characters and eight hit Etsy's 140 limit. They repeat words, mix capitals and include typos. The two shortest titles belong to the two best sellers.

Before · 138 characters

10,000+ MEGA Lightroom Preset Bundle, Spring and Summer Mobile Presets, Natural Creamy Preset, Boho Photo Instagram Filter, Desktop Preset

After · 94 characters

10,000+ Lightroom Presets Bundle for Mobile and Desktop, Natural, Creamy and Boho Photo Filters

Our fix: one pattern for every title: the main buyer phrase first, then the format, then two or three style words, in about 80 to 100 characters.

03

Most tags chase searches that barely exist

What we found: all 13 tags are used on every listing, which is good. But the most-used tags have very little search demand, while the biggest phrase we found, "digital products", is barely targeted, and video LUTs are under-tagged despite 40+ LUT listings.

Our fix: tags that mirror real buyer phrases, with a different mix on each listing in a theme so they stop competing for the same search.

04

Top listings are missing easy details

What we found: the three most important listings had no video, no attributes and no alt text on the main photo.

Why it matters: attributes help Etsy match listings to filtered searches, and video plays in search results. These are the cheapest wins in the whole report.

Our fix: a 5 to 15 second before-and-after video, every attribute filled and alt text on the top 20 listings. About 10 minutes per listing, no new design work.

05

Always on sale, never premium

What we found: everything is permanently 75% off, so the 10,000+ bundle sells at about $5.63. That is normal in this niche, but the shop has no premium product at all.

Our fix: keep the discount, and add one curated product above $8 plus a clear bundle ladder: small pack, theme bundle, everything bundle.

06

Great photos, dated shop front

What we found: the thumbnails are among the best in the niche, but visitors first see a busy banner, a promo-only headline and an announcement last updated in March 2024, with a typo. One section holds 585 listings.

Our fix: a current announcement, a headline with a real search phrase, a "Guides for sellers" section at the top, and seasonal sections first from October.

The action plan

What to do, and in what order

An audit is only useful if it tells you where to start. The report ends with six quick wins and a 90-day plan. None of the quick wins need new products or ad spend: they make existing traffic work harder.

Six quick wins for the first 14 days

  1. Fix the announcement20 minutes
  2. Merge the 10,000+ bundle copies2 hours
  3. Rewrite the top 10 titles2 hours
  4. Add video, attributes and alt text to the top 102 hours
  5. Create a "Guides for sellers" section30 minutes
  6. Put seasonal sections first10 minutes

The 90-day plan

Days 1 to 30 · Clean up

Merge duplicates, rewrite and re-tag the top 50 listings, refresh the announcement, About page and policies.

Days 31 to 60 · Grow what works

Build 3 to 5 new guides around the biggest search phrase, add video to the top 20, launch one premium bundle, refresh seasonal listings by November 1.

Days 61 to 90 · Measure and expand

Compare views and orders with day 1 in Etsy Stats, grow video LUTs, retire listings with no views and plan the next season.

How we built this report

Our team read the public Etsy shop page, checked the titles, tags, photos, video, alt text, attributes and descriptions of the key listings, and used keyword and shop research tools for search demand and the competitive picture. Everything was read on October 23, 2026.

What this page is, and is not

This is an audit report, not a results case study. It shows what we found before any changes were made, so it makes no claim about results. Scores and recommendations are our professional opinion. Third-party sales figures are estimates, and we did not see private Etsy Stats or Etsy Ads data. No specific sales result is guaranteed.

What does an Etsy shop audit check?

It checks catalog structure and duplicates, listing titles, tags and keywords, photos, video and alt text, attributes and descriptions, pricing, the storefront (banner, headline, announcement, About page), reviews and trust, and what leading competitors do differently. Each area gets a score and the report ends with a prioritized plan.

No. The audit uses your public shop page and research tools. We never ask for your Etsy, email or bank password, or for verification codes.

Is KatherineDream a real Etsy shop?

An audit shows what holds a shop back and what to fix first, but no audit can guarantee sales. Results depend on how the changes are made, your products and the market. This page is an audit report, not a results case study.

Can I make the changes myself?

Yes. The report is written so a shop owner can follow it step by step, with time estimates for each task. If you prefer, our team can do the work for you.
